As a father of daughters, I am just beginning to witness in my own children the deep love and connection that sisters can possess. This past week I had the privilege of photographing Natalie’s wedding, nearly three years after I had the honor of documenting her sister’s wedding on the shores of Lake Huron. It felt like family all over again, stepping into the joy and celebration of this union, seeing familiar faces, shedding a tear or two at all the beauty that surrounded me.

This wedding was truly a testament…a testimony to the perfection of imperfection. For many, there is so much time and effort put into planning the perfect wedding day. And yet, it seems that without fail, I witness the unexpected and unplanned on a weekly basis. Some might say those hiccups on a wedding day detract from the intended goal of perfection…but for me, the imperfections remind me of the greater beauty and narrative that is the start of a new marriage! And to be honest, if you stop at Taco Bell between the wedding and the reception, your wedding is an epic success in my book, haha!

Thank you Natalie and Austin! Even with a misplaced ring daring you to take your eyes off of what is most important, you celebrated the day with furor and joy…offering us all a beautiful picture of the testimony of your love for your good God and each other. It was a so much fun to be with you!

Blessings!
Nathan
